Hartley Place

Private client

Jackson Planning was responsible for for advising the new owner of this attractive Arts and Crafts House by Weir Schultz of a suitable planning strategy to secure consent appropriate to their family requirements.

During the processing of the application the Council requested that Historic England list the building formally. The building is locally listed.

Jackson planning recommended a heritage specialist to the owner to refute the Council's claim.  The building was not listed as a result of the intervention.  This action also helped secure consent for replacement of extensive greenhouses.

Part of the strategy was to secure a staff manager's house on the site this was refused by the Council, however, an appeal by Jackson Planning has secured the use in principle and a second planning application is currently under consideration.
